A new contemporary rear extension and internal refurbishment of a Victorian terrace house. The two storey rear extension was formed with timber walls that in turn were lined with ply to enable the walls to act as a diaphragms in order to transfer wind loads back into the structure. This structural timber solution was not only sustainable but also provided a more expedient errection sequence compared with more traditional material such as masonry.
